Water Safety

Water safety is an important part of a child's education, and even very young children can learn how to be safe near water.  The Canal River Trust has some useful information, fun activities and a great video "Hold hands, take two steps back" for you to watch with your child.

Moving onto school

Moving onto school is a big change for children and parents or caregivers. It’s a new stage of growing independence and separation. Fears and worries are normal as well as excitement, as with each stage of childhood development. As parents, your role is to help children cope with and overcome their fears, to nurture them to feel brave and capable. Here is some information to help you with this.

Eat Them to Defeat Them!

Join in and get your children eating more vegetables.  Have a look at the link below and watch our for the adverts on TV.

  • 80% of children don't eat enough vegetables
  • 48% of parents say they struggle to get their children to eat vegetables

Studies have shown that the best diet for good mood, behaviour and learning is one that includes a regular eating pattern and a variety of food with 2-3 handfuls of vegetables per day.
