Passive Smoking

Second hand smoke is a lethal cocktail of more than 4,000 irritants, toxins and cancer-causing substances.

Most second hand smoke is invisible and odourless, so no matter how careful you think you're being, people around you still breathe in the harmful poisons.

Passive smoking is especially harmful for children as they have less well-developed airways, lungs and immune systems.

It's safer to smoke outside when you are around small children, but please try to keep your smoke away from them and others.

Vaping

21% of 11-17 year olds have tried vaping? (ASH 2023) And this is on the rise.

Side effects can include headaches, coughing, insomnia and exposure to nicotine which is highly addictive.

Disposable vapes also generate lots of single use plastic, electrical waste and litter.

Although vaping is safer than smoking, vapes should only be used by people who currently smoke.
