Fundamental to our ethos is the value we place on our partnership with parents. We believe that working together with parents is essential to building the best foundations for children. We want to be a welcoming and informative base for the community, providing opportunities for families to meet together, learn together and enjoy the development of their children. All families are welcomed and valued at Bushy Leaze.
These are some of the ways we work together with parents:
Volunteering provides an opportunity to share your skills and to develop new ones, which might be useful to you in the future. We value the individual and collective skills of the parents in our community and encourage and welcome volunteers to Bushy Leaze. If you are receiving benefits you may well be able to volunteer without affecting your benefits. Do always check with Jon from Jobcentre Plus beforehand.
All long term volunteers are checked by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and receive full training and induction. Please contact us if you would like to get involved.
Partnership Board & Governing Body
Both committees meet regularly to support and challenge the work of the Centre. Together, we share in making decisions about the work of both the Nursery and Children's Centre:
- We are committed to supporting the Centre
- We aim to ensure that children are supported in their learning and development
- We aim to ensure that families are supported in a variety of ways.
Parents Forum - Friends of Bushy Leaze
We have a very active parent support group whose members help with consultation, raise funds for the centre and support each other and new parents. All parents using the services are automatically members and are encouraged to become involved. The committee would like to hear your opinions and ideas. To find out more, check us out on Facebook, or ask in the Centre.
Regular consultations with parents and community partners help us to evaluate and shape our services. Your voice is important to us.
The Parents Forum, Partnership Board and Governing Body all play a vital role in ensuring that the work of the Centre is guided by the views and needs of our community. If you would like to know more or feel you can contribute, please let us know.
We have a Parent Partnership Policy and if you would like to see it, please do ask.
