We offer a wide range of courses for parents throughout the year. All courses require a committment to attending each week and must be booked in advance. For more information on any of our courses, please call the Children's Centre.
Baby massage - encourages bonding and increases parents' confidence in handling their baby. This group also helps to reduce isolation for new mums. The five week course must be booked.
Baby sensory - suited to babies from birth to 13 months, it provides one to one bonding opportunities for mothers, fathers and their babies. It can reduce isolation, and support mothers with low level post natal depression. The group gives parents ideas for play and stimulating activities to use at home. Courses run for 6 weeks and places must be booked. There is a charge for this course.
Cook & Eat- The cook and eat programme is a mix of practical coaching skills, healthy eating tips and food hygiene. It runs for 6 weeks and is aimed at parents of 0-5's. We'll show you how to budget and reduce your food bill and to create menus for your family.
CPCK (Confident Parents and Confident Kids) - If you need help and support with your child's behaviour this programme is for you. Over 8 weeks we will provide practical advice and strategies on how to tame even the most unruly!
HENRY (Health, Exercise and Nutrition for the Really Young) - HENRY is a 8 week evidence based programme that promotes healthy lifestyles for families with young children. The early years are so important and have life-long effects on health and wellbeing. This programme supports families to provide the best possible start in life for their babies and children.
Incredible Years - A 12 week programme supporting parents/carers in creating a happy, stable home where their child feels loved and secure with clear/predictable routines and positive discipline to effectively manage misbehaviour. Encouraging language, social, and emotional development is also covered.
PEEP (Parents Early Education Partnership) for Babies/ones/twos - A rolling programme of 10 week courses, PEEP aims to support parents and carers to enhance their children's learning and development and improve their life chances by making the most of everyday learning opportunities. Through this, babies and children become confident communicators and active learners. PEEP is about valuing and building on what parents already do - sharing ideas from parents, practitioners, the PEEP programme and wider research - but also understanding why they help children's later development.
